Medical weight loss in Spring Branch starts with a provider who looks at your whole health, not just the scale. If diet and exercise haven’t delivered lasting results, the reason often isn’t willpower — it’s biology.
At Medberry Primary Care on US-281 in Spring Branch, weight loss is provider-led from day one. You’re not handed a prescription and sent home. We accept most major insurance — including Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, and Aetna — so for many Hill Country patients, your visits are covered under your existing plan. Your provider builds a complete plan around your health history, your goals, and your daily life.
When appropriate, that plan may include GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide or tirzepatide. Not sure if we take your insurance? Call our Spring Branch clinic and we’ll check your coverage before your first visit.
No insurance? You still have an affordable option — the Medberry Network membership gives you provider-led weight loss care for a flat monthly fee.

I had been without a primary care physician for years and figured it was time I found one. I’m so glad I found Medberry. The staff is always so nice, they play good music, and the doctors and PAs are so thorough.Posted on Google![]()

Excellent service thank you
Step 1 — Book Your First Appointment
Same-day and next-day appointments are available at our Spring Branch clinic on US-281. Call (210) 256-9740 or book online, and we’ll check your insurance coverage before you come in. New patients are welcome, and no referral is needed.
Step 2 — Meet Your Provider
At your first visit, your provider reviews your health history, current medications, and weight loss goals. They look at the full picture — your blood pressure, blood sugar, and other health factors — and determine whether a GLP-1 medication like semaglutide or tirzepatide fits your plan.
Step 3 — Get Your Custom Plan
You leave your first visit with a provider-designed plan built around your life in the Hill Country. That includes your medication plan when appropriate, a custom meal plan, a grocery list, and a personalized exercise guide — not a one-size-fits-all handout.
Step 4 — Follow Up and Adjust
Your provider schedules regular follow-up visits to track your progress and adjust your plan as your body responds. For insured patients, these visits are billed through your plan. For those without insurance, follow-ups are included in the Medberry Network membership at no extra cost.

Medical weight loss coverage varies widely by insurance plan. Some plans cover weight loss medications, and some don’t. Before your first visit at our Spring Branch clinic, we recommend calling the prescription benefits number on the back of your insurance card to ask which weight loss medications your plan covers.
If your plan does cover weight loss medications, ask these three questions:
Even with a complete prior authorization, your insurance company makes the final decision. Approval is never guaranteed.
If your insurance does not cover weight loss medications, or you prefer to skip the insurance process entirely, we offer two self-pay options at our Spring Branch clinic:
Not sure which option fits your situation? Call our Spring Branch clinic at (210) 256-9740 and we’ll walk you through the math based on your specific insurance plan and your goals.
The Hill Country communities of Spring Branch, Bulverde, and Canyon Lake have grown fast, but access to provider-led medical weight care hasn’t always kept up. Many residents end up driving into San Antonio for care they should be able to get closer to home. Medberry serves patients across the area from our clinic on US-281 in Spring Branch — easy to reach from Bulverde, Canyon Lake, and the surrounding Comal County neighborhoods.
Because we’re a primary care clinic and not a med spa, your weight loss plan connects to the rest of your health. Your provider manages your blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol under the same roof — so your weight care fits the full picture, not just the number on the scale.
Medical weight loss in Spring Branch is a provider-led program at Medberry Primary Care on US-281. Your provider builds a plan around your health history and goals, which may include GLP-1 medications like semaglutide or tirzepatide when medically appropriate, along with a custom meal plan, a personalized exercise guide, lab work, and ongoing follow-up visits.
For many patients, visits are covered under existing insurance — we accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, and Aetna commercial plans, plus BCBS Medicare Advantage. If your plan doesn't cover it, we offer self-pay options: $175 per visit, or the Medberry Network membership at $159 per month for unlimited weight loss visits plus your other primary care. Medication cost is separate. Call our Spring Branch clinic and we'll walk you through the math.
Yes. Semaglutide is one of the GLP-1 medications our providers may prescribe when it's medically appropriate for you. Your provider decides whether it fits your health history and goals at your first visit.
Yes. Tirzepatide is another GLP-1 option our providers may prescribe when appropriate. Your provider will talk through whether semaglutide or tirzepatide is the better fit for you — it's not a decision you make on your own.
Your care is provided by licensed physician assistants — Lindsey Sweatt, PA-C and Christopher Pomelow, PA-C — with every weight loss plan developed under the medical direction of Dr. Luke Berry, MD, our founder and Medical Director.
Sometimes. Some plans cover weight loss medications, some cover them only for diabetes, and some don't cover them at all. We'll check your specific coverage before your first visit so you know your costs upfront. You can also call the prescription benefits number on your insurance card to ask what's covered.
Results vary from person to person and depend on your health history, your plan, and how your body responds. What we promise is provider-supervised care — regular visits, honest guidance, and a plan adjusted over time. Your provider will talk through realistic expectations at your first visit.
Yes. Medication is one tool, not a requirement. If it's not right for you, or you'd rather not use it, your provider can build a plan around nutrition, activity, and regular monitoring instead.
